You are considering a career change right at the climax of your age? Then you should be as daring as I am.

The bad news is that there is no definite method to make sure if you like the new line before you are actually involved. The good news is that my mediocre brain came up with a mediocre tactic which can show you the inclination if nothing more than that.

FIRST thing first: research. I hope you already did enough study about the new field before you jump in there; otherwise you better rethink about your move.

SECOND; find out 10~20 (the more the better) major vocabularies dominating the course you are going to pursue. For example if you are interested to become a vocalist, then you list might look something like this: pitch, tone, vocal cord, diaphragm, solfege, a cappella, falsetto... and TALENT (never try to underestimate that)

THIRD; see how you react to each one of these jargons. Try to see and feel the word in the context; vocal cords for example don’t have similar implications for an “ENT (Ear-Nose-Throat) doctor” and a “singer”.

FOUR; rate each jargon and compare the total grades: the one you are aiming to start and the one you are involved now. To be on the safe side, I suggest that the new field should be 150% better to worth the risk.

PS.
Here is the terminology I am putting up with: market, share, promotion, target, forecast, plan, report, presentation, sales, ...

The new jargon: impartiality, brevity, speed, quote, reference, background, accuracy, cinematic performance, tone, accent.
